The Hawke's Bay branch of the Irish National Land League holds its regular monthly meeting on Monday evening nsxt. Separate tenders for forming a footpath in Milton road, for cartage for the Corporation up to December 31, and for filling in nine town sections, must be forwarded to the Town Clerk's office before noon on Monday. The Petane Road Board meet on Monday for the purpose of striking a rate of 3d in the £1 on all ratable property in the district for the ensuing twelve months. Tenders close on Monday for the work of erecting the frame of a cottage (labor only) in Goldsmith road. Pigeon matches take place at Taradale on Tuesday, 12th instant. Nominations for the Grand Handicap close on Thursday next, at 9 p.m., with Mr Hooper, Napier, or Mr McCartney, Taradale. A public meeting of the ratepayers and inhabitants of Waipawa county will be held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Waipawa, on Thursday evening next, for the purpose of considering the harbor question. Mr Lyndon will hold a land sale on Tuesday, 12th instant, when suburban section No. '26, subdivision No. 29, containing 32 perches, all fenced in, will be sold. A concert by St. Paul's choir, assisted by leading amateurs, will be given in St. John's school-room on Wednesday evening next. Mr R. C Pasley, Chief Registrar, gives notice that all brands and ear-marks registered before the year 1881 must be re-regis-tered under the Brands and Branding Act, 1880, before the Ist of January, 1883, or they will be deemed to be abandoned. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has altei'ed the date of the sale of the Pouawa freehold block near Gisborne from the sth to the 10th of October next. The imported thoroughbred stallion Yasco de Gama, will serve a limited number of mares, including his owner's, Mr Allan McLean, at Haveloek during the coming season. At Messrs Banner and Liddle's sale of tweeds on Tuesday next, Mosgiel and Kaiapo tweeds will be offered to competition. Messi's Blythe and Co. have just received ladies Zenella umbrellas, which they are selling cheap. A house with six or seven rooms near the town is wanted to be rented. Mr W. Rathbone, Waipawa, has just received from Glasgow all the latest novelties of the season in spring and summer goods. Mr R. H. Robinson's first spring shipments are to hand, and will be opened on Monday. Woods' iron and quinine wine as a remedy in cases of nervous debility, loss of appetite, &c, stands unequalled.
