September 2. The following are the vital statistics for the month of August :—Births, 6 ; deaths, 7 ; marriages, 2. A very brilliant meteor passed over the town last night, travelling in a south westerly direction. The resident at Seafield, a town on the coast, report two shocks of earthquake at 11.15 and 12.25 on Thursday night, which stopped the clocks.
