I have examined the Sample of M'Ewm's Bottled Alb submitted to me, and find that it contains— Alcohol by weight, 640 per cent; or by volume, 655 per cent. Extractive maiter, 306 per cent.: Acid matter. 0-17 per cent. I have also examined the Alb for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes added to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by the Committee for Winks and Bebbs for the late Interna, tional Exhibition, as those to which espeoial pro« minence would be given, were—lst, Low alcoholio per centage: 2nd, Freedom from acidity; 3rd Absence of fusel oil; and all these are fulfilled in this sample.
