Messrs H. Monteith and Co. report:—At our usual weekly sale at the Horse Bazaar on Saturday there was a fair attendance of buyers. 51 horses wero submitted to auction, including a fine lot of 28 young draught and strong, light harness horses from Wairarapa, which although low in condition were of a very good class. Some of this lot not reaching owner's reserves were held over. Prices we quote as follows : — Medium draughts, £30 to £35 ; do. unbroken, £23 to £25 ; light draught unbroken, £14 to £18 ; liglifc harness, £17 to £24; hacks, £14 to £21 ; station hacks from £8 to £10. Produce prices we quote : Oats, 3s to 3s 3d ; maize, 3s 4d ; feed barley, 3s 3d • bran, £4 per ton ; pollard, £5 10s per ton; flour (provincial), £12 per ton; potatoes, £2 per ton, (by cable.) London, September 23. Consols. 99£. New Zealand securities are unchanged at t. following quotations: —Five per cent 10-4O loan, 10°_ ; five per cent 1889 loan, 102. ; four and"a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, 99i Adelaide and New Zealand wheat, exstore, remain at 57s and 55s respectively. Adelaide flour, ex-warehouse, has advanced 6d, and is quoted to-day at 41s 6d. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,870,000 quarters. The market is firm. Australian tallow has advanced 2s per owt, best beef being quoted at 42s 6d, and best mutton at 44s 6d. The market is deoidedly firmer.
