Kinrogq & Oo M'EWAN'S CELEBRATED INDIA BALE ALE, JL _vl_a_ "GLOBE" BRAND. Melbourne, January 8.1880. I have examined sample of M'Ewan's Edinburgh India Pale Alb submitted to me, and, as a sample of what can be done by a good, honest brewer, it is perfect. No foreign cheap bitter, such as Quassia—no Poisonous Drug, such as Strychnine, Picric, Acid or Cocculus Indicus. NOTBING • BUT THE PEODUCTS OF PURE MALT AND Hops, brewed and fermented in a cool atmosphere, and bottled with care. Admirers of first-class British Beer may use this brand as at present offered for sale without disappointment. As a pure wholesome Bottled Ale it may be strongly recommended. WM. JOHNSON, Analytical Chemist to the Government of Victoria. Chemical Labohatory, School op Arts, Sydney, May 13.1880. I have examined the Sample of M'Ewra's Bottled Alb submitted to me, and find that it contains — Alcohol by weight, 540 per cent; or by volume, 655 per cent. Extractive maiter, 306 per cent,; Acid matter, 0 - 17 por cent. I have also examined the Ale for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes :<dde<l to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by the Committee for Winks and Beers for the late International Exhibition, as those to which espeoial prominence would be eiven, were—lst, Low alcoholic per ccntage : and, Freedom from acidity ; 3rd Absence of fusel oil; and all these \ra fulfilled in this sample. I remain, yours truly, (Signed) W. A. DIXON. S., F.Lf!. A shipment of the above, which has been awarded the First Ordrh of Merit at the Melbourne Exhibition, has been received by MESSRS KINROSS & CO.
