CHRISTCHURCH.
July 29. At a meeting last night it was resolved to form a club to combine Cricket, tennis, bowls, and other kindred sports, under the title of the Lancaster Park Club. On Tuesday last Doctors Prinsand Overden successfully removed the jawbone of a man suffering from cancer. At the annual meeting of the Bible Society last night it was reported that 2,364 copies of'the Scriptures had been sent out from the central office during the year, being 1,264 more than in the previous year, and £500 had been remitted to the parent society. The editor of a weekly society paper published here was assaulted in the lobby of the theatre last night by a man who considered himself aggrieved by something which had appeared in the paper.
