DEPARTURES
July. 23—Mary Wadley, three-masted schooner, for Newcastle, N.S.W.
The Union Company's s.s. Rotorua, Captain Tozer, "-rived in the bay at one o'clock to-dnv frcm Melbeurno via Southern ports. She reports having left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. 20th July, arriving in Lyttelton at 9.30 a.m. on the 21st instant; left again at 5 p.m., arriving in Wellington at 11 a.m. on the 22nd ; sailed again at 5.15 p.m., arriving as above. Experienced easterly weather to Lyttelton, and from thence till arrival west and S.W. "winds. She leaves for "Morthern ports at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadley, Capt. K. Lindfors, sailed for Newcastle New South Wales, at 1.15 p.m. to-day, takinpr a small quantity of potatoes. The Union Company's s.s. Albion, which left Gisbore at 10 o'clock this morning, will not arrive here until late this evening, and her time of departure has consequently been postponed until 9 o'clock to-morrow morning. The s.s. Kiwi is expected to leave Wellington to-night, and may be looked to arrive here on Monday morning. A brigantine has for the pa9t two or three days been anchored off the end of the reef at Cape Kidnappers, probably the Eliza- Mary, which left this port for the South on Wednesday last. No record was made of the hour the Rotorua had left Wellington, but in lieu thereof the usual indefinite " to leave at 5 p.m.," was posted on the telegraph board, which cannot be of much use, as by advertisement we have known as much for a week past.
