T have examined the Sample of M'Ewin's Bottled Alb submitted to me. and find that it contains - Alcohol by weight, 5 - 40 per cent; or by volume, 6 "55 per cent. Extractive matter, 306 per cent.; Acid matter, 0 - 17 per cent. I have also examined the Alk for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes added to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by the Committee for Wines and Bbebs for tbe lata International Exhibition, as those io which esoecial prominence would be given, were—lst.
