AUCKLAND.
February 14. At the Police Court to-uay one boy was sentenced to one month's iropriso; ment, and several others to lesser penalties, for stealing grapes from Mason's vinery. The Attorney-General inspected tbe house built for Rewi at Kihikihi, accompanied by that chief, who again refused to take possession until the Crown grant was given him. The Harbor Board election to-day turned on the question of the construction of tbe big dock, and great interest was manifested. Mr D. H. M'Kenzie, the chairman of the Board, who refused to p'edge himself to carry out the dock, was defeated. Messrs Stone, Compton, and Isaacs, who are all ia favor of the dock, were elected.
