MAHURANGI. [PER PIGEON EXPRESS, YESTERDAY.]

Our correspondent sends the following message: — About six o'clock this morning my boy came and told me that a strange Maori 'landed about 300 yard* above my house. I immediately went to see who he was, and found him to be a native from Puhoi. He told me he knew Winiata, He belonged to the Waikato tribe, and that he was sure he had gone there, as his father was a Hauhau, and named Parengarenga, who was one of the rebels who escaped from the hulk at the Kawau. He alto assisted to build the pa on Mount Tamahua. He afterwards resided at Puhoi, and escaped there to join the King's party. The native who gave me the information is named Nikora, and is very intelligent — The banquet to Mr. W. P. Moat takes place on Thursday the 10th instant.
