Di'.UMvLNXEss. — Mmnic Burke, Pat Mctiuire, and James H HatfielJ, paid the u-siial penalty fur this offence —Ed waid Welch w as chained a\ ith being au habitual diuiikard. — Piisonei alleged lie only had a pint of beer which " hocussed " him. He pleaded %ery hard for the imposition of a line in piefoience to linpnsonment ; he was a iwwi of piopeity and could pay. — The Bench to teach pnsoner better habits sentenced him to Mt Eden for one month with hard labour. This was all the business.
