Mr. R. Arthur sold on Saturday, by auction, a largo consignment of fruit, ex s.s. ' Hero,' and 'Syren.' The following prices were realised : — Oranges, 5s to 7s Gd case : Mandarins, Cs Gd to Ss case ; lemons, 6s Gd to 8* case ; apples, 1 Jd to 3^d perlb. ; French crab, 2£d to 2fd perlb.; stone pippin, 24'd to 32<l per lb.; russett, ljd to Sdper lb.
