Upox the conclusion of the School duties oa Sunday afternoon, at St. Matthew's Sunday-school, the Superintendent said that he had a duty to perform which would not surprise auyone so much »3 Mr. Mitchell ; and, after a few well-merited encomiums oa the rev gentleman, presented an address from the teachers and scholars expressive of their esteem and regard, which w*a accompanied by a Communion SerTice. The Rev. Mr. Mitchell, in a most eloqueufc addre»s, thankc 1 them for the mark ot their regard, which, if possible, ho valued miro from the reflection that, m the course of ha duty, he had been endeavounn? to supply, in aome measure, the loss they had susti'ned, and felt conscious of the difficulty of i«i any way supplying the place of so gifted itminu the late ltev.
