The plaintiff's ease in r^ply was resumed this morning. The whole of thn day was occupied in the examination of Willoujrhby Taipara, Aperabama, Te Raroa, Hohepa Brown, Monga, and Keefa, native chiefs, who were parties to the agreement of the 9th March, 1S65, by which tho goldfields were ceded to the Government, and the flat land reserved. They were all minutely examined as to the boundaries marked out at the time, and on the point as to whether they were decided upon before the agreement was signed. Nearly all the witnps*es said that the line of demarcation, as agreed to by them had not, to their knowledge been altered and taken further on to the ilat. Taipari was examined at length in reference to the land excepted from that given for goldtnraing, and he stated that that all the land on the seaward aide of the line drawn along the base of the hills was exempt and reserved for tho use of the Maoris. The evidence was concluded at 5 o'clock, and the case was adjourned until this morninfr. w hen the learned counsel will address the jury.— The Court rose at 5 p.m.
