Shooting Pheasants.— G. Marshall, jun., charged by Henry Parker, ranger, with having shot a pheasant contrary to clause 18 of tho Animals Protection Act, was fined £1, and 19s. costs.
Civil. — T. and C. Kavanagh v. E. Hunter : Claim, £3 Is. sd. Judgment for plaintiffs, with 2ls. costs. — W. G. Harrison and Co. v. John McFadden : Claim, £1 19s. lOd. Judgment for plaintiffs, with 15s. coats. — Thomas Reid v. W. Brown : Claim, £6 11s. Defendant paid £3 ss. Gd. into Court. Judgment for amount paid into Court, costs to be divided. — M. Enwright v. John Williams : Claim, 45., damage by trespass of cattle. Judgment for plaintiff with costs, 18s. — Waiuku District Board v. C. Upsom : Claim, £2 165., for rates. Judgment for £2 16s. with 9s. costs.— W. D. Board v. James Rutherford : Claim, £1 7s. 9d. for rates. iSlo appearance. Judgment for £1 4s. Bd., and costs 15s.— W. D. Board v. Hamlin : Claim, £2 10s. for rates. Mr. O. Hamlin appeared for defendant. The defence was that the 42nd clause of the Highways Act had not been complied with, and that £1 sa. had been placed to the credit of the Bank. Judgment for £1 55., exclusive of amount paid into Bank, without costs. — ■ W. D. Board v. Mrs. H. Stevens : Claim, £5 183. Bd. The Board was nonsuited on the grounds that a wife could not be sued When the husband and wife held the land conjointly.
