THE SHAREMA.KKET. Mr. E, B. Robinson reports : — " Market has been exceedingly depressed during the last two days, a panic' having taken place in Green Harp shares, which receded to 35s. I sold— City of London, 83 ; Pride of Tokatea, 5s 6d, 6s ; Bismarck, £5. 10s ; Green Harp, 60s, 37s 6d, 35s, 40s, 41s ; Caledonian, £17. Market closed firm, with a good demand for Green Harp and Ooromandel Beach." Mr: J. M. Lennox reports : — " The sharemarket was very dull until the olose of the day, when there was considerable excitement in Green Harp shares. Shares were sold as low as 32s 6d ; they afterwards rallied, and closed with buyers at £2 2s. BUmarok shares are rather easier, closing with sellers «t £5 5s. There is no change in Caledonians. Lawr»nce reports a steady market for breadstuff's and horsefeed. Potatoes are le«s active, and prices are down fully 5a per ton to-day j there appears no export order in hand at the moment, while supplies from the interior seem on the increase, which possibly may have Borne effect on the market. Provisions are without change ; butter ia lower in price, the quantity of fresh coming to hand being on the inorease. At auction sales flour fetched £15 15a ; wheat, 4a 3d to 7s 3d ; oats, 2s 8d to 3s 3d j barley (malting), 6s.
