Mb. Alfred Buckland's Report. — At the Kemuera Yards, on Thursday, dairy cows were fairly represented. Good animals were in demand, and brought from £7 to £10 each ; but middling and inferior animals were with difficulty sold at half those quotations. Store cattle were penned in greater numbers than for several weeks, were dull of sale, and many withdrawn. Weaned calves brought from 20s to 24s ; yearlings, 32s Od to 45s ; two-year-olds, 30a to 70a ; grown steers, £3 5s to £5 each. Pat cattle were plentiful — 125 head penned, generally small-sized animals of good quality. Prices given were irrogulax 1 , but the greater pai t from 22s to 24s the 1001b. The fat sheep pens were well filled with fat sheep of superior quality. Meadow hay brought 4s Od; oaten lniy, 5a to 6s 3d the cwt. ; maize, 43 Gd and 4s 7d the bushel. Horse stock were plentiful, but generally very inferior. Bidding was consequently dull. Prices obtained were without alteration from the past few weeks. Hiding horses, medium size, from £4 to £8 ; draught horses, from £16 to £32. Messrs. Hunter and Nolans Report. — Horses : A good many horses were entered for sale by auction to-day, but sales were difficult to effect ; however, a good many changed hands. There is still an unsatisfied demand for horses o£ good stamp, both light and heavy draughts. We quote hacks from £7 to £12 ; light draught, £13 to £17 j no heavy draught offered. Cattle : The supply was moderate-, and a good demand has existed for dairy and fat stock. Not many stores were offering, and the demand ia gi eater than the supply ; little alteration in value. Dairy cows were not so plentiful as the previous week. The demand continues for ically well-bred animals. No first-class offered, but fair description sold at from £7 2s 6 1 to £9. Very few steers were penned, but those offered mpt good demand at late rates. Well-bred two-year-old heifers, from £3 5s to £4 2« Gd ; yearlings, from £1 103 to £2 2d 6d. Fat stock were scarcely equal to requirements, and there was on the whole a little improvement in value, but prices varied considerably, to bring into consideration the relative weights.
