AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Mk. Alfred Buckland's Report.— At the Haymarket oa Saturday Jast the extreme prices for fodder noticed in. last week's report were fully sustained ; best quality sold at Ga 3d and Gs 6d tbe cwt. • Horses' were ( again' short of requirements, and all young animals, brought forward were sold at prices satisfactory to the seller. Light harness .horses were particularly in request. Messrs. Hunter anj!> Nolans Report,— y Horses : The market hasbeeii tolerably well supplied with the exception of young heavy draught. On Saturday at the Durham Yards a large number were brought for, and nearly all disposed of at prices satisfactory to the .vendor. The shipment ex ' Napier ' from Gisborne commanded attention, and for tho stamp of horses, being nearly all hacks, realised . high figures, selling at from 01. to 172. 10d .each. The other horses moved off 'briskly,", the sale oft the whole being larger both in' number and value than for a length of time. Hacks sold at from 62. ■ Isa ,to 12/. 2a , 6d ; draught horses, from 15?. to 25/. each. Cattle : A large number of stores and dairy *cows were yarded at the Junction.— At 'Waiuku the number was limited. Competition for steers was spirited, bidding being for two-year-olds, 3/. 15a to 4?. 1 2s 6d ; yearlings, 21. to 21., 15s. Dairy cows and rough stores wo^e heavy of sales, it being almost impossible }to quit weeds. Cowa at their profit B«ld at 'from 5/. 17s 6d to 10/. 12a 6d ; two-year-old steers, from 41. to 5/. 2s 6d • three-year-olds, in good condition, from 61. 153 to 8/. each. :The fat stock were principally shipborne ; most of them, being prime, sold readily at fully i3os per 1001b. The balance were bought jby the grazier. Sheep ; There was a full supply of fat, which met with ready, sale atjfrom 4d to 44d per lb., but on the whole t the market was "easier. Stores are in request and sold relatively high; ranging [from 133 9d to 17s Cd ; fat, from 22a to 25s Gd ; lambs, from 12s Gd to 15s, being of small size. Pig 3 : A limited number were penned, but the description were unsuitable, being cither-heavy-weights or very inferior small ones ; prices consequently i uled low. weights are saleable. • '
