The total exports from Great Britain to the colonies for the month of November is 002,000/. To New Zealand they show a slight increase of 64,000£. over last month.
WOOL. The wool sales closed firmly on the 29fch of November, prices averaging a penny advance on the opening rates. Fifty thousand bales were left over for next sales. Helmuth and Schwartz c say that the tone of the wool sales throughout] has been unexpectedly bfisk .New Zealand wool may be quoted at the following prices : — Scoured, 13d to 16£ d ; greasy, 6^d to 8cl ; greasy, lambswool. 7rl.
MONEY MARKET, New Zealand Fives, 1891, 98J : New Zealand Sixes, March, September, 107. The following dividends have been declared : Australasian Trust and Loan Vgency, 10 per cent. ; Otago and Southland Investment, 10 per cent. Mercantile failures are numerous. Edmund Thompson pays Bd. in the pound.
GRAIN AND CORN MARKET. The grain and corn trade is recovering from recent disturbances.
PRODUCE. Tallow fluctuated and sixpence. Hides are inactive, and have declined to the extent of one farthing. Australian leather is brisk ; twenty thousand hides sold at an advance of a farthing on former quotations. Petroleum is steady at Is G£d to Is 7£d ; sperm oil, 79a ; South Sea whale oil is quoted at 36a.
NEW ZEALAND FLAX. New Zealand flax is in good demand, 3,000 bales were offered, and 1, 100 sold freely at previous rates. The remainder was bought in for higher prices. Tow and common, partly cleaned, brings 13?. to 15?. 10a j an<? superior, 32?. 10s to 35?. 449 bales were sold at this price.
KAJ7RI GUM. New Zealand gum is lower in price, and there are no quotations.
