Arrangement of cases : —Fever (typhoid), 1; syphilis, &c, 4; dysentery, 1 ; cancer, 1 ; rheumatism, 6 ; phthisis, 11 ; delirium tremens, 1 ; epilepsy, 1 ; paralysis. 8 ; bronchitis, 2 ; pleurisy and pneumonia, 3 ; hearb disease, 2 ; ascites, 1 ; dyspepsia, 1 ; albumiauria, 1 j abscess and ulcerd, 8 ; wounds and contusions, 3 ; amputations, 3 ; resection, 1 ; fractures, 2 ; necrosis, 1 ; stricture, 1 ; fistula, 1 ; cutaneous, 3 debility, 2. Thanks are returned to Mrs. Cooper for a supply of old linen.
In an action against an editor for libel, an Illinois jury has awarded the plaintiff threequarters of a cent.
