MEETINGS OF SHAREHOLDERS.
A MKETJKrt oi shareholders in the Australasian Groldmining Company was held at the office of Messrs I'ees and Tyler. — The Official Ageat laid before the mooting a list of debts proved, and also a liab of all shareholders, distinguishing them as good, doubtful, and bad. The amount of debts proved wag £470 17a. 2cl. The list of shareholders showed that there ai'e 2,175 shares iv the company, held by 34 shareholders, of whom about 27, holding about 1,300 shares, are able to pay. The Official Agent explained the position of affairs to the meeting, and stated that the largest shareholder, the Australasian Quartz-crushing Company,holding6So shares, was not able to pay anything. He then stated that a call of sixteen shillings per share, (?iving credit for all sums previously paid by shareholders for calls, would be amply sufficient to satisfy the liabilities of the company and the expensed of winding it up. — After considering this statement, the shareholders present resolved, "That a call be made of 16s. per share, credit being given for all calls heretofore paid." It was also suggested that the Official Agent should proceed forthwith against those shareholders who should not pay the above contribution when applied to by him. There was a very good muster of shareholders, a number from the Thames also being in attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed ; after which, the rules of association were read, and the following gentlemen appointed to act as directors : — Messrs. Little, Hall, Heighton, Sturtevant, and Dr. Tassell.
