BALL AT WATROA. (FROM A CORRESPONDENT.) Wairoa, June 15.
A ball on a veryg rand scale lias been given here at the residence of Mr. Crawford. It was conducted by that talented violinist Mr. Jenkins, assisted by Mr. S. Fvazer. The attendance was large and respectable, comprising several gentlemen from the Thames and other districts. Dancing commenced at 8 o'clock in the evening, and was continued until supper time with great energy. The supper was provided by Mr. W. Crawford, ably assisted by the two Misses Crawford. After aupper, dancing was resumed, and the usual ball-room dances were diversified with hornpipes, jigs, and reels. The amusements were continued until daylight did appear.
