The class of Engine represented above is specially adapted for driving small Factories, or the Machinery of Warehouses, Breweries, lanneries, &c, and all situations where there is scarcity of room. They are mounted on a strong Iron Foundation-plate, and require no Masonry foundations. The workmanship and material are throughout of the same high class as in our Portable Engines, and every means taken to render them the best of their KIND. The Boilers are of the most; approved construction, having Lowmoor Welded Crossflues ; the heating surface is very large, and almost any inferior fuel may bo used. The Cylinders are unusually large for the nominal power aold, and the whole of the working parts are proportionately strong. Crank Shafts are of the Locomotive form, and admit of driving pulleys being attached at either end. The Engines are fitted with Governors, Force Pump, Safety Valve, Steam Pressure | Gauge, Water Gauge, Gauga Cocks, and the usual fittings ; also, with REVERSING APPARATUS AND PATENT VARIABLE EXPANSION EXCENTRIC.
