ALEXANDRA. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) June 14.
The KingiLej hereabouts all ssem peaceably disposed, and are busy fencing and ploughing, so there 19 every reason to think they will remain so. We have had a great deal of rain -here lately, which has made the roads very bad for travelling ; bub our mum road, the river 'Waipa, is of cour3e improved, giving the steam-boat proprietors no chance of complaining o£ want of water. Mr. Searaucke held a Court here on Thursday last, but there weie no cases of importance. We are all anxiously waiting to sea what effect the _ remonstrance r of\ the Hamilton settlers against this gentlemau's removal will have with the Government, : we all hope it will be successful, as his decisious have given, every satisfaction, from their impartiality. He has? also the confidence of the King party, which is of importance to us as we stand with them at present. There was alarge assemblage at j;he Kuiti last , week, as a number of the - Arawas were expected, but only two of them arrived, so nothing was done. Te Whecro,' and a party of "Wajkatos, attended from .(liOwev Waikato, , '. \
