The class of Engine represented above is specially adapted for driving small Factories, or the Machinery of Warehouses, Breweries, Tanneries, &c, and all situations where there is scarcity of room. They are mounted on a strong Iron Foundation-plate, and require no Masonry foundations. The workmanship and material are throughout of the same high cia&a as in our Portable Engines, and every means taken to render them the BEST OF THEIR Kl> D. The Boilers are of the most approved cpnstruction, having Lowmoor Welded Crossflues ; the heating surface is very large, and almost any inferior fuel may be used. The Cylinders are unusually large for the nominal power aold, and the whole of the working parts are proportionately strong. Crank Shafts are of the Locomotive form, and admit of driving pulleys bein<* attached at either end. © r- .> «, The Engines are fitted with Governors, Force Pump, Safety Valve, Steam Pressure Gauge, Water Gauge, Gauge Cocks, and the usual fittings ; also, with KEVEESING APPARATUS AND PATENT VARIABLE EXPANSION EXCENTRIC Diameter of Cylinders. The above Engines, being extremely simple throughout, easily managed, and compactly arranged, are especially suitable for exportation.
