We have files of the Lyltdton Times and Canterbury Press to the 9th. 1 One of the crew of the collier barque ' Union 1 was killed in Ly ttelton harbour by a portion of the contents of a coal-basket, which had got entangled in the rigging being prsojpitated'on his head. W& (Press) are. informed that a peculiarity, was observed in tha tidal current up the Kaiapoi river. The tide would, in the ordinary course of nature, have been full at 9 p.m., instead of which it was full at 7.30 p.m., and once over-rising so much as a foot injhalf a minute and receding the same distance again in about five minutes.
