Weekly state of her Majesty's Gaol/ Mount Eden, for the week ending May 14, 1870 :— Awaiting trial before the Supreme Court, 8 males ; sentenced to penal' servitude, 38 males ; sentenced to hard labour, 82 males, 19 females ; in default of bail, 5 males, 5 » females; debtors, 3 males. ' Received during the week, 15 males, 2 females ; discharged during the week, 14 miles, 4 females. Total in gaol, 136 males, 24 females. " -
