TARANAKI.
We have Taianaki papers to the 11th. The following is the lastest market report :— " The news brought by the English mail, relative to the fall in the price of flax, has somewhat damped the hopes of many as to the immediate benefits that were to be derived from the new industry. We do not see that those who have invested their money in the enterprise will have much to complain of if the price falls no lower. m The stock and produce shipped during the past week consists of 260 sheep, 7 pigs, 30 bales flax, 2,16041b. butter, 28 sacks grass seed, 26 hides, and 2 cases plants. Breadstuffa, &o. : Bread, 4£d per 21b. loaf ; flour, 14s per 1001b.; Canterbury,' : 15s ; Adelaide, 16s; sharps, 7s ; bran, ss ; wheat meal, 12s ; oatmeal, 4^d to scl per lb. ; wheat, 5s to 6a per bushel ; oats, 5s ; maize, 4s 6d to 55."
