The Mercury of April 30 reports :— "The dullness to which we have so frequently referred still prerails in our local markets, and business transactions are limited to actual requirements. Flour is constant at 11?. per tori, and wheat at 5s per bushel. Potatoes, without bags, are quoted from 37. to 31. 10s per ton." A telegram of date May 2 gives the price of wheat at 4s lOd to ss ; oats, 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; English barley, 4s to 5s — best samples in request.
