LONDON, April 4.— Mr. Lonlherdi, book auctioneer, sold a copy of Shakespeare's works— the first folio edition— for ±360. In the House of Commons, the bill requiring railroad companies to place footwarmers in all their carriages was killed by \ an amendment requiring them to supply hot brandy, rugs, and overcoats. The barque ' Mary Johnston,' from Bakin, Brazil, reports that on the 13th February, latitude 50deg. north, "longitude 24deg. west, she passed a large steamer which was heading north-east, displaying British colours, and a signal to denote that h6r machinery was broken down. It is thought she may have been the missing * City of Boston.' The gale was very heavy, and the captain of the ' Johnston' was unable to stop or get near enough to make any other observation. The Times says Spain and other Catholic Powers have sent an ultimatum of disapproval of the doctrine of Papal infallibility.
