We have files of Victorian papers to the 21st ultimo. The Argut of that date reports : — "A fair business has been doing in the import markets to-day. Flour is unchanged in value, and we report sales by auction of Victorian at £11 7s Gd. For wheat, a fair demand continues to exist. Quotations lemain at 4s lOd to 5s Id for Victorian. New Zealand and Tasmanian found buyers at auction at 4s Gd to 4s 9d, according to sample. In oats, the public sales amount to close on 2,000 bags, prices ranging from 3s l£d to 3s 3d; 400 bags also changed hands privately at slightly over these rates. In maize there is a slight itnpiovement, 4s 2d to 4s 3d having been got for new. Barley is in good demand ; feeding descriptions are reported as having realised as high as 3s 5d ; malting sorts bring from] 4s 8d to 4s 9d, Sales of hops are reported at from lOd to ll^d for best Kent, the latter price being obtained for a superfine lot in tanks. A parcel of Neva stearine candles changed hands at lid ; and a hundred tons of pig iron were disposed of at £4 5s. Kerosine continues firm, a good-aizedparcelof Oriental having found a buyer at 2s 9d. In brandies, trade sales of Henneasy's are reported at 26s 3d in case." A telegram of the 26th reports : — "The sugar market is firm. There is a fair demand. Sales of white crystals have been made at 38Z. 10s. Kerosine is firm. Wheat, 4s 9fd."
