Late letters and telegrams tor transmission from the Whanganui station -will be received at this office till i 12.30 p.m., and at Onehunga till 1 p.m. j *or Taranaki and the Southern Provinces, per a a. Rangatira, to-morrow, May 4, at 9 a.m. Late letters and telegrams for transmission from the Nelson station will be received at this office till 9.30 a.m., and at Onehunga till 10.30 a.m. Mails per s.s. Hero will close on Wednesday, May 4, as under :~ For India, China, Mediteranean ports, Continent of Europe, &,c, at Ip.m. For the Australian colonies, at 2 p.m. For the United Kingdom, via Suez, for letters specially so addressed, at 2 p.m. Fer money orders, legistered letters, and newspapers, at 12 noon. Mails vis, San Francisco, per s.s. City of Melbourne, will close on "Wednesday, the 4th May, as under: — For Vancouver's Island, British North America, United States, Central and South America, West Indies, and Continent of Europe, at noon. For Sandwich Islands, at noon. For the United Kingdom, afc 1 p.m. For money orders, registered letters, and newspapers, at 11 a.m. Late correspondence for the United Kingdom, bearing a fee of 6d. in addition to the postage, will be received till 1.30 p.m., and on board the s.s. City of Melbourne, by the mail agent, until time of sailing.
Note. —The rates of postage chargeable on letters sent via, San Francisco are the same as those on letters sent vift Sue?, and Southampton. S. B. BISS, Chief Postmaster.
