Public .Auction Bales.

TOWNSHIP OF GISBORNE, POV EET BAY. } HE following TOWN and SUBURBAN 2 SECTIONS in and adjoining the Township of Gisborne, situate at Turanganui, Poveity Bay, on land purchased by Government from the natives, will be SOLD by AUCTION at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on the 13th day of April, 1870. Subjoined are the Jlegulations under which the sale will,, be conducted, and a Schedule of the Sections J to be submitted for sale. Plans can be seen on application at the Geneial Government Agenls' Offices at Auckland and Napier ; at tiie Office of the Secietary foi (J.ov/n Lands. The following are the Regulations and Conditions under which the land will be sold :—: — 1 . The sale will be conducted by the Agent at Napier of the General Government, or such pei son as he shall authorise to conduct the sale. 2. Tie said Agent may order any lot to be withdiawn at any time before it is put up. 3. The land will lie sold m lots by auction to the highest bidder. Tn case of doubt as to the highest bidder for any lot, or in case the person to whom a lot hns been knocked down shall fail to make the deposit hereinafter mentioned, the lot will be at once put up again. 4. The purchase money of every allotment shall be paid by the purchaser thereof, or his a«ent, to the said Agent of the General Government, as follo\v s, viz. : — One fourth at the time of sale or selection by way of deposit, and the remaining threefourths within three calendar months atter such sale or selection. In the event of the second payment not being made as aforesaid, the sale shall be void, and the deposit forfeited. 5. Any land that shall have b r en put up to auction and not sold may he purchased by any person for cash at the upsetprice at which the same was put up for sale, at any time, unless it fhaH have, been specially withdrawn from sale by older of the Government Agent at Napier : provided always that it shall be lawful for the said Agent, instead of permitting any land to be purchased under this regulation, to cause the same to be put up again to auction. 6. Airy land that shall have been put up to auction and sohl, but the purchase whereof shall not have been completed, may be purchased at the price at Svnich it &hall have been sold as aforefeoid, deducting the amount q£ deposit paid, unless t* ithdrawn from sale as in manner pi ovuled in the last preceding section 7. The applicant shall, at the time of making his application, pay to the said General Government Agent one-fourth of the upset price aforesaid, or the balance of purchase money aforesaid, as the ease may bo ; and, if tho application is not accepted, the money so paid will be returned, 9. The said Agent shall, by himself or his deputy, immediately after any such application is accepted (and in the presence of the applicant oi hib cuont, if required), enter into a Minute Book, to be kept for that purpose, a minute of the leceipt of such application. 1 0 When an application has been accepted and the whole of the purchase money is paid inmannerherem provided, the applicant shall be entitled to a C'rovvn Grant of the landpnrchased.
