The Times of that date reports: — The markets are dull in the extreme, and trade i» scarcely likely to revive during the remaining day or two of the present month. Small sales of teas and tobacco* may be noted at sustained prices , but no pirticular goods can be repoited as inquired for Quotationi in the pr duce market are stationary, with no demand except foi local requiiements. Yesterday Messrs VVnght, Stephemon, and Co submitted the Dalvey Stvuon to public competition, at their rooms £7,000 was the reserve price, and as £6,200 was the highest bid the property was withdrawn. Mr John Brook, of Manse street, reports : The produce inaiket. as is usual at ihis season of the year, is quiet. Ihe advancing values of oats and wheat in Victon*, if sustained, will operate as a check against low values ruling here. Price* remain generally the sum as last week— Flour £11 10s to £12 per ton, [oatmeal £18 pearl barley £28. wheat 4s 6d per bushel, cuts 2s 0d to 3?, maize ss, b<an £5 per ton.
