(FROM THE THAMES " ADVERTISER'S" OWN CORRESPONDENT .) February 4.

A MEETING of the members of the Churph of England waa held iv the school- room of tlie upper township yesterday afternoon, for the purpose of taking steps to have a regular service every Sunday morning. Mr, Coupland had much pleasure in moving, " That Mr. Scott be requested to hold a Bervice according to the forma of the Church of England every Sunday morning at the schoolroom, Upper Township, at 11 o'clock." Mr. Reynolds seconded the motion. The resolution was then put and carried unanimously. Since I wrote my last letter the Brian Boru Claim, adjoining the Erin's Hope, has struck a fine leader, about nine inohea thick, from which a. large lot of specimens were taken. The Star of Erin are in hourly hope of hitting the same leader. The news from the Tiki too is encouraging. The Queen of the Tiki haa hit a good leader, and several specimens have been taken out, which are described as exceedingly rich. Mclsaac's claim is likewise turning out well, and I have b«9B told that the stone ia amongst the Ti9h9s.s ia Coromandel. The men are very lm»V prepaying' <jjt§ for $9 ©region of Tdokey's-inachinery, undqrdars have been given to commence* tl^e transport of it up the f&ngeg. ' TlQi. r St'6Ven Tiaa' been very busy dttwag the weeky and hab visited most of the ciaima oVttie range's. * Several claims have, I believe, accepted his proposals.

A$ geUjnger Eiver, 2fow §Quth Wales, a monster carpet-spake was found, fryistedfctur times round the body q£ a kid. The rescue Of the kid from the embrace of the snake reads like an American story, but it is well vouched for. A m&n procured a gun and fired at the snake, cutting it clean ia two, while th# kid wc»ptd uancathed.
