MEETINGS OF SHAREHOLDERS.

A meeting- of the shareholders of the Success Goldmitting Company was convened to be held at the office of the company, Bi ownstreet, Grahamstown, yesterday, bub lapsed for want of a quorum. The report of the mining manager showed that the work done may be classed and stated as follows : — 350 feet of a main tunnel, 6 feet by 3 feet 6 inches in the clear, and timbered where required, and a tramway laid to the mill. Two splendid leaders, known as the Papetoetoe and Point in View, run in close pi'oximity to i the shaft, and there is driving done on the latter at a low level for 50 or 60 fee*, the reef varying from one to three or four feet wide. In the upper workings, or 30-feet level, on I the same level, the reefs look better. There is also about GO feet of driving on it, and when the company begins stoping out there can be a great deal of quartz raised from ! these workings. There are about 80 tons of stone to grass, in which the gold has often been seen, and from which is expected a good payable return. | At a meeting of the shareholders of the Tokatea Claim, Coromandel, it waa resolved j to persevere in obtaining the ground claimed by Mr. McLeod, and carry the case into the higher Courts. At a meeting of the shareholders of tne 1 Puketujai Claim, Coromandel, a call of £2 10s. per^hare was made, the manager's report received, read, and resolved to be satisfactory, and instructions given to cany on the work with vigour. At a meeting 'of the shareholders of the Harbour View Claim, Coromandel, it was resolved that the offer of £50 for the uucruahed portion of the large stone, which haa excited s > much interest in Shortland a few days ago, be accepted. At a meeting of the shareholders of the Alpha and Omega Claim, Coromandel, a call of £6 per share waa made, and it was resolved to carry on the works of the claim.
