MAURITIUS.
The Argus correspondent, writing from Port LouU cm May 13, reports—The approaching sugar orop is near maturity, and the yield will probably realise expectation, i.e., we shall make 125,000 toni. Sugar quotations still ooatiuue to be issued by the broker* ; but, as stated in my late letters, the prices are for the most part nominal, through the great ■oarcity of all but the inferior qualities. The value of these i« as follows :— Medium quality ootmteri, 6.50d01. to 6.60d01. per 1001b. j do. rations, sdol. to SrlOdol. ; low rations, 4.60d01. to 4.75d01. I am able to advise an advance in the value of breadstuff*, owing to arrivals of flour having fnlltn off. Australian flour of first quality is woith 4.60d0i. to 4 75d01. pw 1001b., aud there is every probability of a further advance, unless one or two carfoen come to hand immediately."
