PROPOSED NEW ZEALAND MINT.
Oor Wellington correspondent, writing on the 22ad, says : — " Mr. Digaan is extremely anxious that we should have a Mint established in New Zealand, and he has spokea atrougly on the subject, as one of national importance, 'ihe Government, while sympathising, as Mr. Fox said, with Mr. Dignau'a views, did not think that a Mint would be a profitable institution here at present, or that the colony could afford to establish and maintain one at a loss. They, however, promised to consider the matter."
