TINKER'S GULLY (TARARU).
(VROBC X CORRESPONDENT.) Sinoe latt writing you a few days ago, I am glad to say that mining matters here are still progressing favourably. The Nottingham Castle Claim had a trial crashing at the Kuranui's one-Stamper battery last week, obtaining » yield of six and a half ounces of gold from their ordinary stuff. This claim has only been taken np about three weeks. On Thursday last gold was obtained from a reef eight feet in thickness in the Fiery Cross Claim. Gold has alio been struck in the adjoining claim, the Lancashire La*i, which claim ii now the subject of dispute in the Warden's Court. A few months ago the T«raru block wm stated by a high geological authority to oontaia non-auriferous quartz, but proof to the contrary has been practically shown by the yield of gold •toady obtained.
