PROCLAMATION.

Lieutenant-Colonel Gorton has issued thefollowiug proclamation : — NOTICE. la consequence of a despatch I received from Lieutenant-Colonel McDonnell last evening, and the settlers of this district bring unarmed, for the safety and protection of the same, and to be prepared to meet any emergency that may arise, I hereby call upon the settlers liable to serve in the militia to come forward at the Militia Office, at 11 a.m. this day, to be armed— such volunteers to be called upon for actual service at an hour's notice.
