AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. [Reports for the week ending April 17.]

MR. BUOKLAND'B REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, hay was in better request, and advanced in price 3d to 6d the cwi>. Cocksfoot seed brought 8s ; rye grasp, 3s 3d ; oats, 4s the bushel. Worse stock were dull of sale, •and not many were sold. Cattle have during the past week been in belter request. There is a good demand for stores of all kinds, and fat cattle were better worth 5s the 1001b. than last week ; 67 head were Sold. Dairy cows, at the calving, are advanced 203 to 40s per head. Sheep are also better worth. Store merino wethers have realised during the past week 9s 9d and 10s each ; and fat sheep, on Thursday, were in short supply, and obtained an advance of about 33 per head. The pig pens were fairly filled. Prices ruled high, the advance of tbe past fortnight having been fully sustained.

WILLIAM HUNTER AND 00. 's EEPORT. On Saturday last there was a good number of horses, chiefly backs. Good hacks sold from £7 to £9 10s. The race horse Mystery sold for £10 10s. Oats sold for 3s 6d per bushel ; perennial rye grass seed, from 2s 6d to 5s per bushel j red clover seed, lOdper lb. j white clover, Is per lb. ; cocksfoot, 10s per bushel. On Monday, at Newmarket, there was » good number of cattle. Good dairy cows are scarce ; they sold from £10 to £12 17s 6d each ; backward •pringers, from £6 to £9. There was a good supply of store cattle. Three-year-old steers sold from £5 15s to £7 10s j two-year-old steers, from £3 12s 6d to £4 ; calves, from £1 5a to £2 j two-year-old heifers, from £3 10s to £5 2s 6d ; yearling heifers, £2 15s each. Eat cattle : 1 here was a good supply, and of good quality. All in were sold at from 30s to 35s per 1001b. Sheep market : There was a good supply. Balf-breda sold from 17s 6d to 20s. Some well-fatted merino wethers sold from 15s 6d to 18s each ; lambs sold from 6s to 11s each. Pig Market : There was a good supply; all were sold, at good prices. Otahuhu Market : On Tuesday last, there was a good number of cattle. Two-year-old heifers, £5 15s each ; one and a-half -year-old heifers, £3 7s 6d each; calves sold from €1 5s to £1 12s each ; three-year-old steers, £6 15s each. On Wednesday last, at the North Shore, there were about 100 head of cattle, besides horae*, pigs, poultry, &c, brought forward ; nearly all Were sold. Although the weather was unfavourable, there was a good attendance of people. Ta^re was a good supply of dairy cows, which sold at fully Newmarket prices : two-old-steers sold from £3 10* to £4 7« 6d ; calves sol I from £1 6s to £1 12s ; yearling heifers, from £2 6s to £2 19i each ; two-year-old heifers, from £3 17s 6d to £4 10s each.
