•long the coast. Reports sighting a large man-of- 1 war, name unknown, off the Hen and Chickens, which ii suppose^ to hare gone into the Kawau. The Agnis.— The cutter Agnes arrived yesterday from Poverty Bay, with 264 bags grass seed, and 50 cases apples. She reports having left Poverty Bay on the 3rd April ; on the sth, encountered a gale from W.N.W., which compelledhertorunto Waupu for shelter; left Waiapu on the 6th, and had four days' light winds and calms ; went into Tryphena on the 10th with a strong S. W. wind, left Tryphena on the 12th, md arrived in harbour as above. The Agnes sighted the schooner Kauri off the £«st Cape, bound northwatd. The cutter Whangarei arrived yesterday from Whangarei, with 6 tons and a quantity of I settlers' produce. She left Whangarei on Sunday, and experienced fine weather along the coast. The steamers Enterprise No. 2 and Tauranga left for the Thames yesterday orowded with passengers — mostly diggers returning to Shortland, after enjoying their Easter holidays in Auckland.
The b.s. Midge arrived from the Thames last even* ing, with about 600 ounces gold on account of the Bank of AustraUsi*, and 70 passengers. The barque Novelty hauled alongside the wharf yesterday to discharge her inward cargo. The Sea. Breeze.— The schooner Sea Breeze' arrived from the B»y of Islands yesterday, with 20 cases fruit, and 11 pusengers. She left Russell on Friday, and had light southerly winds along the coast. There were sn« whalers lying at the Bay when the Sea Breeze left. The brigantine Kenilworth arrived latt night from Ngungnrn, with 50,000 feet timber, fehe left Ngunguru at noon on Sunday, and had light winds
