Breadstuff* are very firm, but in the face ,of ,the auction sale,, of 300 tons, advertised for to-morrow, there has been leu inclination to operate in flour at, the somewhat higher rates now asked. ' Sales are reported at £20 to £20 5s for parcels; at the first-named figure, however, large quantities would have, been taken up. Small lots have been purchased at up to £21, and the town millers ask more money. Wheat continues to find buyers at.Bs 4d to 8s 6d. We hear of one superior parcel having « realised a very extreme figure. Oats are declining. We learn of a line of 600 bags having been placed at 4s 6d, but there is not a very ready sale even at this price. Maize having come forward more freely, a alight concession on late rates has been accepted, and this has led to the disposal of larger parcels at 3a lOd ; w,e quote from 3s lOd to 4a. By auction, the entire cargo of Mauritius sugar, per 'fttar of Peace,' amounting to 7,i21 bagt, was offered in the forenoon, and some 6., 000 bagswere disposed of. The sale opened at' about' 10s. lower, but before the close a decline of fully 20s had to be submitted to. Grainy browns , brought 80s to 31s 3d flow yeflows realised 32s to* 32s 9d ; good yellows were placed at 34s 9d ; and' middling white crystals were quitted afc37s to 38s. , Teas are without much animation, and the business done is confined to purchasing for actual trade wants. Good common congous have been sold at Is 4d, and sales of good mediums are 'mentioned at Is 9d. Cornsacks have been disposed of at 11s lOd ; the sales made, however, are but limited. We hear of a parcel; of 500 cases of Gozzens's kerosine oil having been quitted at Is 9£d, being <harily up to late quotations. In liquids, we note a fair inquiry for Marrian's ale at £8 15s.
