MADRAS.
There lias been a severe gale on the north coast. The ships ' Eliza Bencke ' and 'Mercia* were totally wrecked. The 'MerciaV crew were saved; thecajitaia and fourteen of the 'Eliza Bencke's ' crew were drowned. The ■ barque ' Gallant' was also lost, but her crew saved. Tonnage muoh inquired for. Exohange— Bank bills, la. HJd.; credits, Is. Hid.
