BEET-ROOT SUGAR.

To the Editor of the Daily Southern C*o«b. Sib, — I hope this important subject which you have placed so prominently before the public, is not going to be dropped. Haying had communication with various parties on the subject, I may mention that one is ready to produce 300 tons of beet-root this year, and 1,000 tona next, if there is a manufacturer ready to take it and convert it into sugar. It would not require a large capital, and this would be a first-rate commencement of produce and manufacture — most important fer the future well-being of our province. If this colony could only be made to produoe its own sugar, a great good would b« done, and I see no reason why not. — Yours, &0., J. Cjbispb. Aubkland, September 28, 1867.
