The s s. Tauranga, Captain Sellars, may be expected to return from Tauranga this evening. The departure of the paddle-steamer Enterprise No. 2 for Kauaeranga, Thames, was postponed last evening, until this morning at half-past 6 o'clock, in consequence of the severity of the weather. The brigs Fakeha for Sydney, Rita for Tahiti, and s.s. Lord Ashley for the South, entered outwards at the Custom-house yesterday. Loss of A Cutter. —During the strong wind and heavy sea which prevailed on Friday and Saturday latt, a small native craft;, name unknown, sank at her moorings off Kauaeranga, Thames, owing to the seventy of the weather. The Aspasia — The schooner .Aspasia, Captain Eagleton, arrived yesterday morning from Wangapoa mills, with a cargo of 32,000 feet of sawn timber for shipment to the islands per brig Rita, and went alongside that vessel to commenct her discharge. Owing to the severity of the weather on Friday and Saturday, a small Maori cutter had foundered off KauaerangA, but no lives had been lost. The Midge will return to the 'Jhaiues this evening, carrying passengers and cargo. The Mahukangi. — The cutter Mahurangi, Queen, master, arrived yesterday (from Mahurangi, with a ■mall cargo of settlers' produce and firewood. During her stay there she received a thorough overhaul at her builder's jard, and, we believe, will be put on the Thames trade. The s.s. Gemini. — The smart little screw steamer Gemini made an excursion to the Thames on Saturday evening, with her owner and a party of friends, numbering nearly 20. The party landed at Kauaeranga at daylight on Sunday, and, after spending the day in an examination of the reefi and the country around the Karaka, returned to the Karaka during the afternoon, much, gratified with their viiit. Steam was got up, and the little vessel returned to Auckland, in order to keep her Kiverhead appointment, yesterday morning. Notwithstanding the strong head wind, increasing during the morning almost to a gale occasionally, the Gemini took in a considerable cargo, and kept faith with her Riverhead passengert, leaving against wind and tide, and returning in the. evening. Great praise is due to Captain Casey, her owner, for the punctuality he observes. The cutter Gazelle, Jagger, master, arrived early yesterday morning from the Great Barrier Island, with a cargo of firewood.
