MELBOURNE.
At a meeting of shipmasters heldat Lloyd's Rooms, Melbourne, oa September 13, it was resolved:—- " That the rates of freight shall be for greasy wool, fdperlb.; for washed wool, |d perlb.; both gross weights at the Queen's beam, with 5 per cent, dunnage; and that the return abatement in all cases shall not exceed 2£ per cent. This agreement to be equally binding on vessels loading at Geelong. All wool to be delivered free of lighterage and cartage to the ship, except the wool which may be carted direct from the Spenser-street station to the Hobson Bay railway station, for vessels loading at the Kailway Pier at Sandridge, and except also the lighterage from the Town Pier to the Railway Pier at Geelong. No inland carriage to be paid by ship at port of discharge. The Bhip to be allowed to dump the wool ; and in the event of any shipper objecting to have his wool so dumped, &d per lb. will be charged as extra freight." _____^
