A QUESTION.
To the Editor of the Dailt Southern Caoss. Sir, — Will you kindly inform the public whether or not Mr. Rovro it holding a situation under the Government 1 I have been told that he does ; and if it be true, I think it is highly out of place and improper for him to ba touting for Mr. Williamson or any one else at election meetings. I mention this because I remember Mr. Howe once spoke very strongly about " the overpaid officials" (I think he termed them), in reference to retrenchment. What his particular duties are, beyond travelling up and down the Waikato at the expense of the Government, I am anxious to learn. — Yours, &c., Black Diamond. April 4, 1867. [Mr. Eowe will be able to answer : we cannot, — Ed. D.S.C.]
