A HARD CASE.— WANTED, A WIFE.
lo tb« Editor of th« Daily Southern Cboss. Sib, — The most of us know that the times are rather bad just now, but is that any reason why a man cannot get married? I have been four yeara now trying to get a wife, and have not succeeded. If I was ugly I might know the reason of thia, but I am rather handsome, particularly my beard and legs. The girls all seem to fall in love with, the ugliest person first, but I look with pity on their ignorance. O temporal O mores! Whit are we arriving at — a decent man not find * wife ! This i« too bad, and ought to be looked to. The girls want Christianizing. They all laugh at me, because I once thought I had a call, and went preaching ; but I failed, and jam satis— l don't want to preach any more. Trusting that you will make this public in your truly yaluable paper, and thus, by contributing my iota, we may, in time, raise » revolution among the girls (one able to milk preferred), — I am, &c, A Bachelor Pekjobce. Mangere, March 29, 1867.
