HOBART TOWN.

There hu not been much activity in the markets to-day, and we Hare heard of no very important transactions; Prices continue without alteration. Flour, £10 10s to £11 per ton ; wheat, new, 4s 6d per bushel. Old wheat is reported scarce, and the quotation is nominally 5s per bushel. Oats are very dull of sale, the quotation being from 2s 6d to 2s 9d per bushel. Butter has advanced in price, and Is 4d has been given, but stocks are still being held for a further rise. Retailers are now selling best samples at Is 6d per lb. Eggs are selling at from Is 3d to Is 4d per dozen. Cheese is a great drug at presenb, and can be purchased almost at any price. The quotation is nominal, from 8d to Is 3d per lb. Messrs. Brent and Westbrook offered for sale to-day the valuable Risdon estates, known as the property of Mr. T. G. Gregson, M.H. A. There was a very full attendance of capitalists, but no sale was effected. Messrs. Guesdon and Co. held a miscellaneous sale at their mart, when very satisfactory prices were realised for most of the goods offered. — Hobart Town Mercury, March 13>
